Representative Noujaim welcomes Waterbury native and Boston Celtics basketball player Ryan Gomes to Fairlawn Park. Gomes, a Wiltby High School graduate, held a basketball clinic at Fairlawn Park Saturday, June 16, 2007 to celebrate recent renovations to the park. Representative Noujaim secured a $250,000 grant that helped fund the renovation and reconstruction project.

The event was organized by the Nutmeg Reading Council, an affiliate of the Connecticut Reading Association, which sponsored a series of statewide events promoting literacy. The event took place at the Target Store, 300 Chase Avenue, Waterbury.
