State Rep. David Scribner (R-Brookfield, Bethel) toured the Plumtrees Schoolhouse in Bethel with his family in late December 2007 with Bethel resident Leroy Staib. Mr. Staib, along with former Bethel First Selectman Charlie Steck, are overseeing restoration of the schoolhouse, built in 1860 and used as a public school until the 1960s. Mr. Staib requested Rep. Scribner's assistance in seeking funding to help in the restoration.

State Representative David A. Scribner (R-Brookfield, Bethel) officiates swearing in newly re-elected Brookfield Town Clerk Joan Locke on Wednesday, December 19 in Town Hall. Locke, in turn, swore Scribner in as Town Treasurer for their new, four-year terms that begin on January 7th. Under the town charter, they begin their new terms on the first Monday in January. They achieved the highest votes on the ballot in November. Rep. Scribner also swore in Brookfield's two Assistant Town Clerks, Barbara Hope and Mary Murray.

Representative Scribner spent the day with the Girl Scout Troops from Brookfield on October 26, 2007. The girls spent the day touring the Capitol, Legislative Office Building, and the Supreme Court and Connecticut Museum.
