At the State Bond Commission meeting held Monday morning August 4th at the State Capitol in Hartford, $40 million in funding for Phase 2 of the Route 7 Ridgefield to Danbury widening project was unanimously approved. At a news conference held Friday at Danbury City Hall, Governor M. Jodi Rell credited Ridgefield Representative John Frey for bringing the need and sense of urgency for the request to her attention. "John made a compelling argument for this funding. For those of you who don't know John, when he makes a case, he is very hard to say no to," she added. Here, Rep. Frey is showing Governor Rell the scope of the Phase 2 project, which is expected to get underway this year.
