REPRESENTATIVE CHAPIN ACHIEVES 100 PERCENT VOTING RECORD IN STATE LEGISLATURE

Hartford—According to records released by the clerk of the House of Representatives, State Representative Clark Chapin, R-New Milford, achieved a 100 percent voting record in the General Assembly in 2007. The Legislature concluded its business for the year on December 5, after holding an ongoing special session since the regular legislative session adjourned in June.

According to the House Clerks Office summary, Rep Chapin is one of only 14 House lawmakers to vote on all 420 bills before the House of Representatives during the 2007 legislative sessions. There are 151 members in the state House of Representatives.

"Representing New Milford in Hartford is both an honor and a privilege,” said Rep. Chapin.  “Residents deserve to have their voices heard and that can't be done by proxy.  When I stop taking this job seriously and miss votes without good cause, then it will be time to clean out my desk. Until then, I will continue to strive for 100 percent attendance."

Representative Chapin serves as Ranking Member (House Republican Leader) of the Legislature’s Environment Committee, as a member of the Appropriations and Human Services Committees and in October 2007, was appointed Vice-Chairman of the House Republican Bill Screening Committee. He was elected to his fourth term in the House of Representatives in November 2006.
