REPRESENTATIVE FREY RECOGNIZED FOR ENVIRONMENTAL RECORD |

The Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CLCV) has recognized State Representative John H. Frey, R-Ridgefield, with a 100 percent score on votes held during the 2006 Legislative Session that affect the environment. CTCLV is a bi-partisan, nonprofit organization that seeks to make Connecticut’s environmental laws stronger and more effective.
CTLCV identifies and tracks state legislation introduced in Connecticut's General Assembly that will impact the state's natural resources. State Legislators are notified about these bills through periodic "scorecard alerts" and asked to cast a pro-environment vote.
After each session, the environmental scorecard grades legislators on their overall votes and makes this information widely available to the public. The organization provides the scorecard as a tool to engage the public in state policy and hold legislators accountable on environmental issues.
The 2006 scorecard rated votes on important conservation issues such as protecting public water supplies and open space, reducing polluting emissions from passenger and commercial vehicles, conserving natural gas and oil and enacting new environmental standards for state building projects.
“I appreciate this recognition from the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters,” said Rep. Frey. “The ability to incorporate protection of our natural resources in the state’s public policy is a goal the Legislature should continue to strive toward.”
