REP. FREY ANNOUNCES RIDGEFIELD ART GRANTS |

RIDGEFIELD- Representative John Frey, R-111 today announced that the state has awarded two arts’ grants to Aldrich Contemporary Arts Museum and Ridgefield Playhouse. The grants are sponsored by the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism’s Arts Division.
The Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism has awarded a Fiscal Year 2008 supplemental general operating support arts grant to the Aldrich Contemporary Arts Museum in the amount to $41,607 and $28,594 for the Ridgefield Playhouse.
Rep. Frey said, “It’s nice to see Ridgefield arts getting this recognition from the state. I am exceptionally proud of these outstanding organizations for continually receiving these worthy grants!"
These art grants may be applied to any aspect of an organization’s daily operations, including administrative or programming costs and helps advance the organizations’ overall missions. The grants also aid in promoting greater stability for these organizations and make quality art programs, exhibits and performances available to Connecticut residents.
Aldrich Director Harry Philbrick said, “The grant will be vitally important as we work to fulfill our mission to be a national leader in the exhibition of significant and challenging contemporary art.”
“These funds will provide lasting support for our arts community. I want to thank the Governor Rell and the Arts Commission for promoting these worthwhile organizations”, added Frey.
“These grants strengthen the Ridgefield arts’ programs and projects and makes Ridgefield a rich and exciting place to live,” concluded Rep. Frey.
