Rep. Labriola Honored By Statewide Parenting Organization

State Representative David Labriola, R-131, was honored on Tuesday, February 21, by the Shared Parenting Council of Connecticut (SPC) at a ceremony at the State Capitol. The organization bestowed its ‘Outstanding Legislator’ award on Rep. Labriola during the event.

The SPC works with the Legislature, nonprofit groups and lobbying groups to promote changes in Connecticut's judicial system that will better serve children. Rep. Labriola serves as a member of the Legislature’s Judiciary Committee.

The Parenting Council’s Board of Directors voted unanimously to honor Rep. Labriola with the award at a meeting last July. It cited his support for Public Act 05-258, enacted in 2005, which made several changes in child custody, support, and visitation statutes to better address the needs of children.

“I am honored to have been recognized by the parenting council on behalf of children’s interests within the judicial system,” said Rep. Labriola. “As this legislative session progresses, I will continue to work with the parenting council to promote this critical issue.”
