Environment Committee Hosts Informational Forum on Global Warming |

Today, the legislature’s Environment Committee, including state Rep. John Piscopo (R-Thomaston), hosted a number of climate experts at an informational forum in Hartford.
Certified Consultant Meteorologist Joseph D’Aleo, a leading skeptic of many of the global warming alarmists’ claims of impending doom, was invited to speak at the forum by Rep. Piscopo. D’Aleo has spent 30 years in the field of meteorology, and is a Fellow of the American Meteorological Society.
In his testimony, D’Aleo called for a “reality check” regarding many of the claims being pushed by proponents of catastrophic global warming theory, and pointed out that despite many reports, global warming is not “settled” science.
“Extreme measures that may hurt the economy are not justified,” D’Aleo said. “Many scientists believe the only constant in nature is change.”
“It was very important for Joe D’Aleo to come here and speak today. He was the only presenter on the “other side” of the global warming debate,” said Rep. Piscopo. “It’s critical to hear that side of the issue, and it’s important that we make decisions based on sound science and not on politics.”
Rep. Piscopo represents Burlington, Harwinton, Litchfield and Thomaston in the General Assembly.
