EASTON- State Rep. John Stripp who represents Easton today announced that the town of Easton has been awarded a $1,500.00 Connecticut Trust's Barns Grant from the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation.

Funds will be used for a conditions assessment of the Bradley-Hubbell barn to determine how best to restore the barn.

“It is nice to see the state recognizes the Bradley-Hubbell barn to be a precious asset in Easton,” said Rep. Stripp.

State Representative John E. Stripp, 135th District. “I am happy the town can move forward with assessing how best to restore this treasured barn.”

The Barns Grant can be used for one or more of the following three options: a conditions assessment, to determine what needs to be done to restore the structure; a feasibility study, to explore adaptive re-use options and/or a state or national register for historic places nomination, if the site and structures are significant enough.
